If you\u2019re in that group, you may be balancing things like the ongoing health crisis, rising mortgage rates, and your own changing needs to determine your best time to make a move.<\/p>\n<p>However, recent data shows that time may already be here. According to the latest\u00a0<a title=\"Home Purchase Sentiment Index\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fanniemae.com\/newsroom\/fannie-mae-news\/softening-hpsi-may-portend-slower-housing-market-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Home Purchase Sentiment Index<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(HPSI) by\u00a0<em>Fannie Mae<\/em>,\u00a0<strong>76% of consumers believe now is a good\u00a0<\/strong><a title=\"time to sell\" href=\"https:\/\/www.simplifyingthemarket.com\/2022\/01\/14\/when-is-the-right-time-to-sell-infographic\/?a=466898-080e3e27bd6b6eaeaafdd339d1935ef7\"><strong>time to sell<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Looking back over the past few years, its clear consumers are incredibly optimistic today. The graph below shows the percent of survey respondents who say it\u2019s a good time to sell a house, and their positive outlook is on the rise. The big dip near the middle of the chart indicates how consumer sentiment about selling dropped at the beginning of the pandemic as uncertainty about the health crisis and its impact grew. The good news is, the trend today shows a continued, drastic improvement, and people are feeling more and more confident with time about selling a home.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, survey respondents think it\u2019s an\u00a0<strong>even better time to sell a house today than they did in the lead-up to the health crisis.\u00a0<\/strong>The latest survey results indicate we\u2019re at one of the strongest peaks in seller sentiment since March of 2019, hitting highs when 77% of people thought it was a good time to sell only twice before in June and October of 2021.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/files.mykcm.com\/2022\/02\/04130946\/20220107-MEM-Eng-1.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-101015\" src=\"https:\/\/files.mykcm.com\/2022\/02\/04130946\/20220107-MEM-Eng-1.png\" alt=\"Consumers Agree: It\u2019s a Good Time To Sell | MyKCM\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Why Are Consumers So Optimistic About Today\u2019s Housing Market?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>From record-high\u00a0<a title=\"equity gains\" href=\"https:\/\/www.simplifyingthemarket.com\/2021\/12\/21\/the-average-homeowner-gained-56700-in-equity-over-the-past-year\/?a=466898-080e3e27bd6b6eaeaafdd339d1935ef7\">equity gains<\/a>\u00a0to record-low\u00a0<a title=\"housing supply\" href=\"https:\/\/www.simplifyingthemarket.com\/2022\/01\/20\/buyers-want-to-know-why-is-housing-supply-still-so-low\/?a=466898-080e3e27bd6b6eaeaafdd339d1935ef7\">housing supply<\/a>\u00a0and significant\u00a0<a title=\"buyer demand\" href=\"https:\/\/www.simplifyingthemarket.com\/2022\/01\/27\/why-right-now-is-a-once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity-for-sellers\/?a=466898-080e3e27bd6b6eaeaafdd339d1935ef7\">buyer demand<\/a>, homeowners have more motivation than ever to sell.\u00a0<strong>There are more buyers in today\u2019s market than there are homes for sale, and that\u2019s driving home prices up, making it a great time to sell your house.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the\u00a0<em>National Association of Realtors\u00a0<\/em>(NAR), the current\u00a0<a title=\"supply of homes\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nar.realtor\/newsroom\/annual-existing-home-sales-hit-highest-mark-since-2006\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">supply of homes<\/a>\u00a0for sale today is at a\u00a0<strong>1.8-month supply, which is an all-time low.\u00a0<\/strong>When the supply of homes for sale is low, sellers will likely see more offers, which is exactly what\u2019s happening right now.
